Agenda:

1.  Welcome

2.  Neighborhood News

3. Elections

3.  Q&A

4.  Adjourn

Mr. Habib Sherdil attended our civic association meeting because he wants to build a house in the neighborhood that requires Zoning approval.  He wanted to show the support of the neighbors in Arlington Mill to Zoning.  All neighbors present in the meeting supported Mr. Sherdil.

Ms. LeDuc, on behalf of the neighbors, wrote Mr. Sherdil the following note:

As you requested, on behalf of the civic association, I am writing to advise that the civic association membership at its May 21st, 2024 meeting voted unanimously in support of your moving forward on building a house to be located at 5389 8th Road So., Arlington, VA”.

Ms. LeDuc talked to all the neighbors and presented her resignation as President of the Arlington Mill Civic Association. At the same time, she nominated Mr. Chanda Choun, the current Vice-President, to be the President.  The vote was taken by a call of the roll. He was approved unanimously.

The next position to be filled was the Secretary, and Mr. Omari Davis volunteered to cover the position. The vote was again taken by a call of the roll.  He was approved unanimously.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

·       The newly elected president mentioned he wants to increase participation in Arlington Mill Civic Association and a few ideas were discussed. For example: have representatives per block and in each one of the buildings that are located in our neighborhood.

·       New townhouses, Carlin Place, seemed to be already to be occupied by new owners. One representative from our Board will try to approach them to participate.

·       The July meeting of the AMCA was cancelled.

THE NEXT MEETING OF AMCA WILL BE SEPTEMBER 17TH AT 7:00 PM
