Upcoming events at the Arlington Planetarium

Two upcoming events at Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium, at 1426 N. Quincy Street, near Washington-Lee High School. The events are being hosted by the non-profit association Friends of Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium.

This coming Saturday, October 15, at 7:00 pm, storytellers from Voices in the Glen (a group who have been telling stories in this area for more than 25 years) will spin tales about stars, constellations, planets, our moon, and other celestial phenomena. The program will be appropriate for story and star lovers ages 8 to 108! Suggested donation: $10. Seats are limited, and doors will be closed once they are filled. On Sunday, November 6, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, Amy Fredericks of the U.S. Naval Observatory will talk about “Citizen Science,” the many ways in which amateur astronomers, even those without telescopes, can make real contributions to astronomical research. Program will be appropriate for adults and children age 9 and older. Suggested donation: $10. Doors open at 3:45 and will be closed once the lecture begins.
