IT'S A THREE-DAY WEEKEND OF ENTERTAINMENT AT LUBBER RUN AMPHITHEATER

It's a three-day weekend of free family entertainment under that stars at Arlington's Lubber Run Amphitheater.

Professional Jazz: The Army Blues--Friday June 21, 8 pm

The U.S. Army Blues, part of the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own," is the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Army. First organized in 1970, the 18-piece band became an official element of the Army Band in 1972.

Big Band Sound: King Teddy--Saturday June 22, 8 pm

With their own special brand of ‘Swing for the Modern Age,’ King Teddy walked away with a Wammie for best Big Band/Swing Recording of 2012 (not to mention nominations for the Big Band/Swing Vocalist and Big Band/Swing Group categories)!

Island Rhythms: The Constituents--Sunday June 23, 6 pm

The Constituents are an acoustic band based in Arlington. They play popular music often combined with Caribbean soca, kaseko, reggae, salsa, and merengue rhythms. Members Judith and Ingrid Morroy, Liza Figueroa Kravinsky, Jamie Daly, Rob Receveur, Juan Rivera and Carlos Contreras met through work, politics and community activism in the Washington metropolitan area.

Other performers scheduled later this summer include: Margot MacDonald, Colleen Shanley and Grand Junction, the Grandsons, the Tone Rangers and the Bob Gibson Big Band. All performances are under the stars at the refurbished and accessible Lubber Run Amphitheater at N. Columbus Street and N. 2nd St. two blocks from Rt. 50 in the Arlington Forest neighborhood.
