The third annual Superstar Family Fun Day and Mason Mile Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, October 16th, from 9 – 12 AM at Key Elementary School, 2300 Key Boulevard, Arlington, VA. Rain or shine! The “Mason Mile” will start at 9:30 am. This is a FREE community event, with optional donations to benefit Key School and the Mason Leach Superstar Fund at Children’s National Medical Center.

Superstar Family Fun Day will consist of outdoor activities for the whole family, music, snacks, and the main event – the “Mason Mile”, a one-mile road run/walk down Key Boulevard.

The Superstar Family Fun Day and “Mason Mile” are held in the memory of Mason Leach, a five year-old Key School student who passed away from brain cancer in 2007. This event is sponsored by the Key School PTA and the Mason Leach Superstar Fund to honor and support the community who helped Mason during his illness. This event celebrates Mason’s life and encourages the children of Key School to be active both physically and in their community.

To help others battling cancer and other illnesses, the event will also host a blood drive for eligible donors. The Children’s National Medical Center Blood Mobile will be on site. To set up an appointment for that morning go towww.cnmcblooddonor.com.

Key Blvd will be closed to traffic from Veitch to Highland from approximately 9:15am-10:00am. Please help us make this a great event. Come and cheer for the kids and families running. Please park off the street during that time to help local authorities manage the race. We appreciate your help and patience.
