We had an incredible summer that just wrapped up here on Columbia Pike. We want to thank you for supporting our SummerFest whether you were able to attend, sponsor, or just spread the word! This year, CPRO provided a full slate of activities: free outdoor movies at Penrose SquareEVERY SINGLE Saturday from June 21st through September 20th - only exception was 9/6 due to inclement weather! We also helped activate the West End of the Pike June 19-Sept 11 by providing compelling outdoor movies twice a month on Thursday nights at Arlington Mill Community Center.
CPRO would like to thank our major sponsors for making this a reality:
Washington Forrest Foundation
And individual movie sponsors:
Arlington Community Credit Union
We are glad to partner with you and enhance our community together!
We were thrilled to partner with community sponsors for:
Beach on the Pike - a day full of activities from bike rides to brunch to bogey to family friendly movie Shark Tales!
Jane Franklin Dance brought great performance pieces to Penrose Square on Saturday Sept 20th
CPRO helped Arlington County produce the Live in Arlington info Fair at Arlington Mill, also 9/20

CPRO also sponsors not one but TWO Farmer's markets on the Pike. We were very pleased to launch a Farmer's Market at Arlington Mill Community Center Wednesdays from 3-7pm.
Once everything finally got in motion, the mid-week market started mid-August during the middle of the season which proved somewhat challenging for vendors. If you've been to the market recently, you've noticed a lack of produce vendors - we've got that fixed, for the next THREE WEEKS. So if you've considered a visit to Wednesday Farmer's Markets at the Mill, get there TODAY, 10/8 or 15 to get your veggies for your meals! The market will continue through November on a smaller scale, or you can visit the main market at Town Square until the Arlington Mill market reopens in Mid-April.
Our farmer's market at Town Square (Columbia Pike & Walter Reed) for the past twenty years continues to operate in full swing.
We were proud to be the first in Arlington to offer the SNAP program (at both locations!) and are glad to see it's expansion to other Farmer's Markets in the region and the County. This main market continues to run every Sunday year round from 9am-1pm. It's a great place to support local vendors and get fresh produce for your week after brunch at local restaurants on the Pike!
This year's Arlington Fun Ride is this Saturday October 4th - we hope you and your family and friends plan to attend. This is a great event with the adult and youth ride at 8am and a short kids ride at 10am.
Go out and see Pike Bike store Papillon Cycles, voice your support for the kids learn to ride area, or just have a great bike ride on a beautiful day.

Twisted Vines Wine Bar and Bistro will bring locally sourced, organic food to Columbia Pike.
Twisted Vines is preparing to introduce Executive Chef Jessica Shields to their Columbia Pike wine bar and bistro. Since Josh and Sybil Robinson opened Twisted Vines in 2010, they have realized their vision of serving great wine at reasonable prices in an atmosphere that is reminiscent of a vineyard tasting room. The Robinson’s are also passionate about pairing their wines with exquisite food that is consciously grown and organic. Now Twisted Vines will feature a chef who shares those values. When the Robinsons’ made the decision to hire a Chef with an equal concern for quality and taste they only looked to one person – Chef Jessica Shields.
Chef Jessica Shields has brought her dedication to locally sourced and organic food to Twisted Vines. Jessica has already begun her transition into Twisted Vines by partnering with farm fresh food and local producers that she has worked with throughout her career. Many changes have already taken shape on the menu and Twisted Vines plans to officially launch her cuisine in late October.
Stop by and taste amazing new things!
