Arlington ENERGY JOURNEY GAME, Jan. 31st, 1-5pm WHS

Post date: Jan 18, 2015 1:13:57 AM

Looking for a free fun indoor family activity on a cold January day?

I am writing to make you aware of a community-wide event that my department, the Arlington County's Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE), is hosting. It is called the Energy Journey.

The Energy Journey is a life-sized board game that teaches people of all ages about how they use energy in their daily lives. It will take about an hour to play and is a great family activity. We had several hundred people attend and play the first two Energy Journeys and we hope that this year's event will be even bigger and better. Even if you played it before, come again, as the game has been changed fairly significantly.

There will also be some giveaways and you can be entered into a drawing to win several home energy improvement prize packages.

I will be at the event, along with other County staff and the Local Energy Alliance (LEAP), to help people with any home energy and home renovation questions. Virginia Sun and ACE will also be there to talk to anyone who is interested in learning more about putting a solar system onto their home.

WHEN: January 31st, 1-5pm (last game will begin at 4pm)

WHERE: Wakefield High School Cafeteria.

Here is some more information about the event and a link to register, although walk-ins are also certainly welcome.

**If anyone is interested in volunteering to man a booth at the event, please let me know.

Thanks and I hope to see you there!

Best,

Helen
