Public asked to review scenarios for both properties
Sponsored by County-APS Joint Facilities Advisory Commission
The public is invited to join Arlington’s Joint Facilities Advisory Commission (JFAC) on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 for a public forum to review possible scenarios for the Buck property, off Quincy Street, and the Virginia Hospital Center site at 601 S. Carlin Springs Road. The County has the option to acquire both properties and has been engaged in a broad-based community review effort to determine their best uses.
“JFAC, working with County and Schools staff and with the community, has developed five scenarios for how the County might use each of these possible land acquisitions to meet some of our many pressing facility needs,” said JFAC Commission Chair Ginger Brown. “This forum is meant to put those scenarios before all Arlingtonians, to gather their feedback before JFAC makes recommendations to the County Board.”
The free forum will be held in the Wakefield High School cafeteria, 1325 South Dinwiddie St. in Arlington, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Members of the public will have another opportunity to review specific use scenarios for the two properties during a JFAC Open House at Courthouse Plaza on May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, on May 25, an online form will be available on the JFAC website for sharing feedback on specific use scenarios for properties.
