Help us Develop a great Tribute for Dr. Martin Luther King in Arlington

Post date: Oct 2, 2011 1:51:45 PM

As you may know, Arlington County has been commemorating the birth of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King for 42 years. Would you be interested in helping us review the way in which we honor Dr. King and help us develop a path for the coming years commemorations?

Arlington has historically drawn it's program with support from our historically black churches. However, now that they are doing a large faith-based program it seems this might be a good time to review Dr. King's vision and how Arlington commemorates it.

Whether it's a march, a rally, a roundtable discussion, or an assembly, Arlington County will honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at an event on Monday, January 16, 2012. Come be part of the planning process at the first meeting of 2011 on Wednesday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Walter Reed Community Center.

Bring your ideas and prepare to share them with fellow community members. We welcome your creativity! For details on the 2011 MLK, Jr. Day Celebration, please see the attached flyer.

Kindly RSVP to lcorridon@arlingtonva.us.
