Update on Virginia Highlands Renovation

The courts, lighting and community field at Virginia Highlands Park have reached their lifespan and need to be replaced. Community members asked the County to look into creating a new area for children to play basketball when developing the renovation design. In early August, Parks and Recreation conducted a short community-wide survey asking a wider scope of the community if they wanted a basketball area for children at Virginia Highlands Park. Based on the community's feedback, it was obvious that a children’s basketball area was something a significant number of community members wanted. Staff will be presenting new concepts to the community that include this amenity in the coming month.
