Grants to Plant or Maintain Trees on Private Property in Arlington
Arlington County thinks trees are so important that through its Tree Canopy Fund<https://parks.arlingtonva.us/grants-to-plant-or-maintain-trees-on-private-property/> residents can receive grants to plant or maintain trees on private property. Quality trees that are generally 2" caliper and 7' high, including Southern magnolia, Bald cypress and Red oak, are among the 10 species given away. Funding is also provided to maintain trees with the Champion Tree designation that designated or under application for protection through the County's Tree and Shrub Ordinance as specimen, heritage, or memorial tree. Grants funds are provided to Arlington civic and homeowner associations, community nonprofit organizations, civic service clubs, school-related groups, ad hoc neighborhood groups and individuals.
